Vein Water

09/21/2020

Mudslides

made friends this side of

San Andreas.

Easterly winds prevailed

in the pursuit of

rotten things.

A relocation occurred

in the year of our lord.

Continental schisms

beneath rubber soles.

Dreams lay back over forests

and fault-lines.

All the while, San Francisco glides

but glacially

towards earth's end.

Los Angeles watches,

inching up in increments.

And in exchange for mudslides,

we've the heaviest bonds--

those that count.

Blood runs thicker than water,

water runs faster downhill

we’ve been reduced to petty bargains.

what a pity, what a shame.
